Date of Birth: 1972

Director Joe Wright was born in London, where his father (who was 65 years old when Joe was born) and mother founded The Little Angel Theatre, a puppet theatre in the borough of Islington. Wright was always interested in the arts, spending his time painting, making Super 8 films and performing in a drama club. He is dyslexic and left school with no GCSEs (qualification awards for specified subjects) but still managed to be successful. He took improv workshops at the Anna Scher Theatre, and with his portfolio of paintings and Super 8 films, was accepted into Camberwell School of the Arts.









Steve McQueen is a British artist, director and screenwriter best known for his films Hunger, Shame and 12 Years a Slave, which won the Academy Award for best picture. Born in 1969, Steve McQueen is a British artist, director, and screenwriter who has garnered many awards for his art exhibitions and film work. He broke through into the mainstream film industry with his 2008 film, Hunger. His 2011 film, Shame, earned many accolades. McQueen's 2013 film, 12 Years a Slave, won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival as well as the 2014 Academy Award for best picture.







•      Oscar-winning director James Cameron is best known for the highly acclaimed, box-office hits Aliens (1986), Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009).

      •James Cameron is a critically acclaimed film director known for some of the biggest box-office hits of all time. A science fiction fan as a child, he went on to produce and direct films including The Terminator, Aliens and Avatar. He has received numerous Academy Awards and nominations for his often large-scale, expensive productions. His most noted work, 1997's Titanic, became the first film to earn more than $1 billion, and landed 14 Academy Award nominations. Cameron took home three Oscars himself for the project, including for best director, best film editing and best picture.
