Storyboard after the film.

As a group we
came up with our own original Ident; the production name is based on all our
names put together. We decided to have the background as a out of the ordinary,
heavy rock background that help to add to the gritty outlook of teenagers
lifestyles. This is also highlighted with the simple typography of a basic
clean text that stands out against the heavy and dull background colours. Our
production name then begins to slowly fade in to the existing screen. this is
to present to are target audience who was apart of the film making process.

The
logo fades out in a quicken pace, straight after the production name at the
title sequences. The reason why we chose ‘Film 4’ due to there target audience
of C2DE of very social specific audience. The reason for this decision was
based on the location and the message that we were trying to give across to are
target audience all in all by looking at film 4’s target audience I thought it
would be interesting to look at as it is similar to our film genre.
The opening credits continue to progress onwards, we as
a group had to include the important aspect of the credits which was the
beginning of the certify, that show the intended audience that can watch this
fill. The are is 15 years and above that are able to view this opening
sequences due to the nature of the film opening. This is because 15 years and
over ate recommending to watch but nothing below the ages of 15 years. Also,
we decided to also add the sign of ‘Parental advisory explicit content’ as
another way to warn the audience member that are about to watch the opening
film of are genre . As we wanted to further enforce that the nature of the
films content is only allowed and only recommended to our specific target
audience. As it is suitable for them to watch as without this it would be
disrespectful to the audience as well as putting them at risk of something
unsettling. Thus this reinforces the protection of them viewing this film as
they have been warned.
A teenage girl is suddenly seen being fading into the
opening scene after the opening credits have taken place. This happens when the
girl is presented with a spoon to
highlight that she is using drugs this is again resented though a canted angle
and handheld camera. The dull purple and
chiaroscuro lightening helps to suggest that’s he is in a dark atmosphere as
well as creating a mystery feeling about the character and the scene that they
are currently watching. The different colours also suggest to the audience that
she is in an unusual place. The name of our film is shown at the bottom of the
screen as it introduces what it is going to be about.
As our film is a
layer of moving images across the screen, this montage of two contrasting
images are overlapping, that again helps to add to the theme of madness and the
chaotic nature of the scene of the characters due to the place that they are at
as well as them taking illegal substances. This is gain so that the audience
are aware that the scene is set in a club by the use of colourful lighting (LED
lightening) and a DJ can also be seen behind the scene. Whilst this is
happening a young teenager’s voiceover played.
Again here, I decided to use layering as well as a fade
to black in to the next scene so that I could give my film a much more over the
top layering. As it helps keep the whole momentum of the play, fasted pace and
quick that the audience do not get bored of one scene. To be specific, if the
scene of each and every drink scene lasted longer than six seconds that the
audience would become bored and restless as the scenes have become boring and
dull, hence I decided to keep the pace quick was to ensure the audience gasped
the concept of the film really quickly. In addition to the establish shot the
increasing pace of jump cuts to each scene created a more dynamic approach of
attitude to the film. However on the other hand , the use of layering each
scene already helped give the film a much better partying factor film that I
presented to the scene as the editing was quick and fast pace.
The juxtaposing of
the still images and clips layering against each other give the film a better
structure that i was able to structure the movie to the best of my ability. It
also gave the audience and insight into
the characters life's. Also giving the viewers a much better
understanding as to what drives them into partying all night and drinking
alcohol. Close ups used here to help grasp the ‘high’ that the characters are feeling at the time in the scene, (thus I
reinforce this with the colourful background wall of colours. When they have
and are taking alcohol substances. Also reinforcing that teenagers are allowed
to have fun as well regarding the affects of drug usage can be harmful but at
the same time taking in to account that everyone is allowed to make mistakes
and to learn from them. Also i believe that
sometimes young adults should be able to take a breather and be allowed
to be themselves. However at the same time they shouldn't be taken at all at
they are illegal substances and that it shouldn't be taken lightly.
Chiaroscuro is presented in this film, the reason for
this decision i felt that the film needed to have a mysterious factor that is
lacking throughout. It also gives the film an element of something might happen
later on in the film. This is effective, as the audience will be left either
feel alarmed or startled at the outcome of the film. However, natural lighting
was also used to keep the reality of the film as it is based on day-to-day
teenagers and young adults.
More canted angles where used in the film opening as
well as handheld camera techniques, this was to give a better and clear
representation of the stereotypical behaviour of young teenagers in today's’
society. Hence making the camera angles symbolic as they are used in order to
reveal the reaction and usage of drugs
and alcohol abuse of our generation. Alongside the representation of the
experimental lifestyle of teenagers today. Considering the canted angles also
insinuate the extreme and out of control behaviour of the characters as the
skewed angle represents their erratic state mentally and physicality.
Bright colours give a symbolic gesture as well as
contrasting to another scene in the film where lighting of chiaroscuro is used to make the scene
appear eerie and daunting for the viewers, allowing them to make their own
opinions about the film.
