My Role
15th
February – I stared to map out the action
plan for the film as well as me giving out leading roles to my other team
members.
19th
February – Firstly, as an added exercise I
done some research on costume design on different genres that would help
stimulate a costume outcome for our genre in our film. This ranged from films
such as ‘ILL Manors and Rebel without a cause’; by doing this it gave me a
better understanding as to what will work in our film. Thus making it seem more
realistic as well as looking better, as notably more suitable for our opening
scene as it would link to the stereotype of our film of our generation.
22nd
February – Secondly, I extended my research
and knowledge on lighting and sound techniques. I found that for our footage
using harsh and darker lighting in certain scenes of the film will help
stimulate a more prominent effect on the audience, contrast to the bright
vibrant lighting in the club scenes of the characters drinking shows the
effects alcohol has on our generation as a whole. Thus suggests that the
opening scene will be much more effective with the contrasting lighting. Hence
excite an exhilarating effect for our opening scene.
26th
February – In equal importance, I took the
time to look at the key stills for the film opening, which includes a detailed
annotation around them screening what exactly these key stills will show.
28th
February – I created a film proposal form
and then submitted it to my group.
3rd
March – Furthermore I created a script
proposal for our group, which outlines what our film opening should conclude
of. Hence highlighting the importance of each scene carefully.
21st March – Moreover, I began
my reach on camera work for when drugs and alcohol are taken in movies, to thus
use a similar camera shot, movement and angle in our footage which will hence
look and be more effective for the audience. By me doing this I found that establishing
shot, high angle and low angle shots and close ups are very popular in genre
films based around drugs and alcohol.
30th March – On this day, I started thinking about what transitions and
effects I could use for our opening scene and also suggested where the
transitions should be taken place on each clip in our footage. As a result I
gathered that by layering the film it will have a much better significance on
getting our message across to the general public, this is because if it was
produced in a slow pace editing form we would lose are target audience making
it less engaging and effective.
1st April – Alternately, I looked at other film poster that related to
my genre, in order for me to get a much better feel of the style in which will
work best for our movie poster. Accordingly, I designed a poster for the film
that would represent the actions taken in the footage, resulting to the film
poster being of the footage drugs and alcohol. As this is the general theme of
the film.
5th April – I later began to take down key and vital notes on all of the
participation and contribution, which the people in our group have done so far,
hence keep track of everyone’s actions in the group.
7th April – On this day, I started doing the sound and editing onto our
film, I made sure that all of the transitions and effects that were chosen,
would be suitable for this type of genre, to be specific fast jump cuts are
used to keep the nature of the film flow.
I also made a contribution in choosing what sounds and what soundtrack
should be chosen for our film and what transitions and effects we should use
too , to help better the outcome of our final film.
11th April – Second to last, I re-evaluated my work on trying to complete
the editing with the final touches and changed anything that would be
irrelevant to our film.
13th April – Lastly, on this day I finalised the entire film and submitted
it to the teacher.
