Mise en scene

Mise en scene

The difference between Superman and Batman’s characterisation is that batman is dependent on weapons to portray his strength whereas; Superman relies on his natural strength that gives him the ability to fight of the bad people. Christian Bane who plays batman costume is black; to me this portrays his super strength as well as the colour of this costume being back helps hide his identity from the outside world. Hence black gives the audience, the perception that he has to hide so that he can continue to save the world from chaotic behaviour.

Henry Cavill who play’s Superman, wears the colours blue, yellow and red, including the symbol “S” in the middle of his chest. The “s” stands for hope and of course superman. The colour red contrast to Batman’s black costume as, red is an almaring colour that conveys danger.  Also having said that it is another way of telling the audience that he is their saviour whenever trouble occurs on their planet. Thus making the audience see him trustworthy and humble as a person and a superhero.  Henry Cavill, portrays the character in a positive light , allowing the audience to trust him to be their protector whereas Bateman is iconic but ha to r keep his identity a secret from the outside world thus wear black as it is not seen as a hindering colour.

Superman doe sot use any weapons in the film franchises, only is strength that makes him mesmerising and a supreme superhero.
